BERWYN, PA - On Monday, March 24th at 8:39 a.m., the Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched to the off ramp to Devon Park Drive from Route 202 Northbound in Tredyffrin Township for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment. Berwyn Squad 2 arrived to find a single vehicle on its side after striking a concrete highway divider. The driver and sole occupant had to be extricated with the use of rescue tools. Fire and EMS crews worked in tandem to stabilize the vehicle to prevent further movement, partially remove the roof and also having a rescuer inside the vehicle to keep the driver calm. Berwyn EMS transported the subject, who was wearing a seatbelt, to Paoli Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided traffic control and investigated the cause of the crash. All units cleared the scene by 9:45 a.m. and the ramp was reopened after PennDOT inspection. |
