BERWYN, PA - On Friday, May 16th at 4:24 p.m., the Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched to the area of the 300 block of N. Fairfield Rd. in Easttown Township for a motor vehicle collision.

Rescuers arrived to find a single vehicle that had left the roadway and struck a tree in front of a residence. The driver and lone occupant was trapped requiring extrication. The crews of Berwyn Squad 2 and Engine 2-3 freed the driver within minutes with the use of rescue tools.

The driver was transported by Berwyn ambulance to Paoli Hospital with serious injuries. The Easttown Township Police Department performed traffic control and investigated the cause of the crash.

The scene was cleared by 5:30 p.m. A total of 11 fire/EMS calls were responded to by career staff and volunteers in the T-E community on Friday.
