The Berwyn Fire Company has a long established partnership with PennMedicine with Dr. Dickinson serving as the Berwyn Medical Director since the inception of the Advanced Life Support Program on September 13, 2002.

The ribbon has been cut!

The David G. Keble Jr. Memorial Foundation (Helmets Off 4 David: First Responder Support) donated $2,000 to the Berwyn Fire Company at the building dedication too. This money was raised from a recent corn hole tournament where a local resident selected Berwyn Fire Company as the recipient. Berwyn Fire Company Life Member Bryan Humbarger carried the historic Company Flag during the parade.

Berwyn Fire Company Life Member David Warlick rings our 1833 restored bell that now hangs proudly in our bell/hose/training tower. The alarm for a fire was sounded by banging a sledgehammer against the iron tire of a locomotive drive wheel circa 1894. To replace the sledge and wheel, a bell was purchased at a total cost of $67.00 from the Fairmount Fire Association in Philadelphia circa 1900. With the exception of the fire station moving from Berwyn Avenue to Bridge Avenue in 1928-1929 and the recent construction of the new fire station on Bridge Avenue from 2024-2025, this bell has been hanging in a tower for the majority of the 131 year history of the Berwyn Fire Company. The bell was notably cast by John Wilbank who cast the first replacement bell for Independence Hall. Wilbank was an active advocate for the abolition of slavery until his death in 1843.

Deputy District Director Donnell Sheppard with U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan's Office was presented with a piece of the ceremonial ribbon by Past Chief Eamon Brazunas. Mr. Sheppard worked with Berwyn Fire Company leadership to obtain federal grant funds for the project totaling $500,000. Thank you to Representative Houlahan for advocating for this critical funding to support this public safety project.

A functional fire pole will allow our first responders to get down to the 1st floor faster. The pole is strategically located where personnel can move towards the gear room or right into the apparatus bay. The pole is equipped with a safety cage, door flaps and padded landing.

BERWYN, PA - On Saturday, September 27th, the Berwyn Fire Company officially dedicated the new fire/EMS station at 23 Bridge Avenue in the Village of Berwyn. After 95 years in the old firehouse, Berwyn Fire Company, in conjunction with the Board of Supervisors from Tredyffrin & Easttown Townships, is proud to announce the completion of this critical project that will serve the Tredyffrin-Easttown community for decades to come. The project was financed by funds generated by the Berwyn Fire Company, donations from the Tredyffrin-Easttown community, tax dollars from both Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships, State grant funds and Federal grant funds. The total cost of the construction, including soft costs, was $10,500,000 for the 20,000 sq. ft. building. The station features 4 apparatus bays for fire trucks and ambulances, along with increased sleeping quarters and bathrooms for career staff and volunteers. An emergency operations center can also be operated from the station to coordinate emergency responses during significant weather events and other disasters at the local level between Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships. And most importantly, the station now has the proper safeguards in place to reduce carcinogen exposure. Township officials, state representatives, project engineers, architects, construction supervisors, and other dignitaries attended the ceremony. A short parade down Bridge Avenue kicked off the ceremony, followed by the building dedication and apparatus housing ceremony. The Berwyn Fire Company sends a shout out to our fire/EMS partners in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties that served as housing companies. These organizations play a critical role in supporting the response of the Berwyn Fire Company in the Tredyffrin-Easttown community.
