EMS / Ambulance Membership

Welcome to Berwyn Fire Company’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division!  Berwyn EMS responds to 2,500 calls for help annually.  Our ten full time employees and 60+ volunteers work together every day to make sure that Berwyn provides top-notch EMS care to every citizen of our district, should the unfortunate need arise.

Berwyn houses two Advanced Life Support ambulances at our Bridge Avenue station in the village of Berwyn and one Advanced Life Support ambulance at our Swedesford Road station in Tredyffrin Township. Berwyn has two “first in” fire engines that are also licensed as an ALS response vehicle. Both engines are equipped to provide a chase car style EMS response in the event we are notified of medical emergency while out on a fire call. Recently the fire company has added two multi-purpose vehicles capable of providing EMS coverage to limited access areas including the Chester Valley Trail, Valley Forge National Park, The Devon Horse show and much more!

We have outfitted all of our Fire/EMS apparatus with Automated External Defibrillators, or AED’s.  This gives Berwyn the ability to provide EMS anytime, anywhere, on any call.
