Paramedic Engine 2-3 was dispatched as part of a task force to a large fire at a hay bale farm on the 100 Block of Cooper Road in New Garden Township on 06/02/11 at 1716 hours. Avondale Fire Company (Station 23) had been initially dispatched to the fire earlier in the afternoon. The fire grew rapidly because of the windy and dry conditions. Many other fire companies were then called in to assist. Berwyn's engine responded as part of a task force with engines from Goshen (Chester Co. 54), Concordville (Delaware Co. 59) and Middletown (Delaware Co. 50) while several fire companies from Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland were already operating at the scene of the fire. Over 150 firefighters fought this stubborn and labor intensive fire. Berwyn's crew returned home just before Midnight.
