| Station 15 (Radnor) and Station 2 for an Engine were dispatched to the 300 block of North Wayne Ave. in Radnor Twp for the building fire at 4:18 a.m.
First arriving units were met with heavy smoke showing from the ground floor apartment of a 3 story apartment building. There were also two injured fire victims.
Additional resources were requested and the crews from Radnor and Berwyn worked together to bring the situation under control quickly.
Engine 2-0 established a water supply at a nearby hydrant, while other Berwyn crews assisted with a secondary search of the building, and helped with clean-up.
Engine 2-2 set-up a landing zone for PENNSTAR Aeromedical at the Radnor High School. A civilian burn victim was flown to a Philadelphia trauma center in stable condition, while a second civilian was taken to a local hospital with smoke inhalation.
The fire is believed to have been caused by careless smoking.
