| While traveling home from the fire station Lt. Eamon Brazunas noticed a car that had run off
the roadway and struck a tree just after 11:30 p.m. on Berwyn Baptist Rd. near the intersection of Landsende Rd.
As he investigated to see what had happened he heard a moaning sound in the dark. It turned
out to be the lone occupant of the accident who was about twenty feet from their car lying on
the ground in severe distress. Lt. Brazunas advised Chester County Fire-board to dispatch Station 2 FIRE/EMS and put an aero-medical unit on standby.
The crew of Engine 2-2 provided scene lighting and controlled all hazards from the vehicle,
while the crew of Amb./Medic 2-1 performed patient care.
Rescue 2 responded to the Devon Horse Shows Grounds to set-up a landing zone.
The victim was flown to a Philadelphia trauma center by PENNSTAR I with serious injuries.
The Tredyffrin Twp. Police Department believed the subject had been on the ground for well
over an hour without anyone taking notice of the accident.
All Station 2 units were available by 12:25 a.m.
