| The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched for Tower 2 to standby in Phoenixville Borough to cover their primary protection area during a large warehouse fire on Bridge Street.
The crew of Tower 2 was re-assigned to the fire scene as the Rapid Intervention (RIT) upon entering the Borough. This is a specialized fire crew who monitors the scene for building collapse and other hazards that could endanger firefighters engaged in fighting the fire. If a firefighter were to become trapped in the building this team would be responsible to locate and get them out.
Tower 2 remained on scene for several hours and returned to Berwyn by 12 Midnight. First responders from Chester and Montgomery counties responded to this blaze. The Chester County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, where no firefighter or civilian injuries were incurred.
