| Berwyn firefighters were dispatched at 10:57 a.m. for an electrical fire inside a home in the 600 block of Upper Weadley Rd. in Tredyffrin Township.
While enroute the Chester County 9-1-1 Center advised that the Tredyffrin Township Police Department had fire in a 2nd floor bedroom and that a dry chemical fire extinguisher had been deployed. Based on the unknown extent of the fire, the call was upgraded to a house fire response bringing mutual aid from Radnor Fire Company and a Rapid Intervention Team from the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co.
Upon arrival of Berwyn Engine 2-3, firefighters secured the power to the house and opened up the wall to ensure the fire was extinguished. At the same time Radnor firefighters checked the neighbors house due to fallen electrical lines between the houses. There was no reported firefighter or civilian injuries.
As crews were handling this emergency, a fire alarm was dispatched at 11:25 a.m. in the 100 block of Leopard Rd. in Easttown Township. Valley Forge was re-directed to handle that call with Berwyn Tower 2 as the house fire was declared under control.
All units were clear of both of these calls by 12 Noon. These responses were part of 9 fire/EMS incidents handled by volunteers and staff today. |
