BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company is proud to recognize the 46th annual National EMS Week, May 16-22, 2021. In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. This year's theme is This Is EMS: Caring for Our Communities.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to highlight the importance of having high quality pre-hospital EMS care in the community. The Berwyn Fire Company (BFC) has taken great strides to adapt and overcome challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. This has involved both administrative and operational changes to ensure services have been uninterrupted to the Tredyffrin-Easttown community.

BFC operates (3) ambulances, (3) fire trucks, and (2) fire/EMS command vehicles that are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Between the career staff and volunteers responding from (2) stations, Station 2 located at 23 Bridge Ave. and Station 102 located at 1100 W. Valley Rd.,1,911 EMS calls were handled in 2020. Through the end of April 2021, approximately 722 EMS calls have been responded to in the Tredyffrin-Easttown community and surrounding municipalities.
