| BERWYN, PA – Joshua C. Lichman officially began his role as Fire Chief of the Berwyn Fire Company on January 8, 2026. Lichman succeeds Life Member Justin K. Brundage, who served as Fire Chief for four years and recently concluded his 36th year of service to the Tredyffrin-Easttown community.
Lichman has been with the Berwyn Fire Company since 2009, starting as a firefighter. He has held several leadership positions, including Lieutenant, Captain, and Battalion Chief, working alongside both volunteers and career staff in one of the region’s most established combination fire/EMS organizations.
Lichman is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a focus in finance. In 2012, he was awarded Firefighter of the Year by his peers. He currently works for Accenture as a project controls finance lead, overseeing financial management for gas programs totaling $100 million each year.
A former resident of Glenhardie in Tredyffrin Township and a graduate of Conestoga High School, Lichman now lives in King of Prussia with his wife and son, while continuing his volunteer service with the Company. He maintains family connections in the Chesterbrook, Glenhardie, and Malvern areas of the Township.
During his membership, Lichman has chaired the social committee, participated in the membership committee, and led water rescue State team certification efforts. He is a certified Emergency Medical Technician and holds multiple national fire and rescue certifications.
In 2021, during Hurricane Ida, Lichman played a leading role in the rescue of a trapped driver in rising floodwaters in Valley Forge National Historical Park. For his efforts, he and other personnel received international recognition from the Higgins and Langley Memorial Awards for excellence in swiftwater rescue.
Best of luck to Chief Lichman as he takes on this new role in service to the Tredyffrin-Easttown community.
