| BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company regrets to announce the sudden passing of volunteer EMT Taha F. Chomelawala. Taha was involved in a traffic collision, this past week, while preparing for his senior year of college.
Taha was a graduate of Conestoga High School and lived with his family in Tredyffrin Township. Taha was attending the University of Pittsburgh David C. Frederick Honors College with the goal of becoming a neurosurgeon. During his time in Pittsburgh, he served as a medical researcher and teaching assistant.
Taha joined the Berwyn Fire Company as a volunteer in 2022, while in high school. Taha was a registered EMT with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, along with holding other training certificates. Taha took great pride in volunteering and was an active participant during the move into the new Bridge Avenue fire station in 2025.
A public memorial service will be held at Conestoga High School, 200 Irish Road, Berwyn, PA 19312, on Sunday, September 6th at 3:00 p.m.
