BERWYN, PA - As the tail end of Winter Storm Gail made its way through the region, Berwyn Fire Company volunteers and career staff responded to 18 fire/EMS calls during the 24-hour period on Thursday, December 17th.

This included a truck fire in the area of Walker Rd. and Glenhardie Rd. in Tredyffrin Township. The crew of Engine 2-1, located at 1100 West Valley Rd. near the Gateway Shopping Center, arrived within minutes and quickly extinguished the fire. Engine 2-2 also assisted at the scene with additional firefighters The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided scene control. PECO was notified to check nearby power lines due to the radiant heat. The truck driver was transported by Berwyn EMS to Paoli Hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation.

A big thanks to the Tredyffrin and Easttown Township Public Works Teams for their efforts to keep the roads cleared.
